ArtTours

Program description

ArtTours is a program held at the Triton Museum of Art that is designed for K-12 students from Title I schools. A majority of these students come from low-income backgrounds and may not have much access to art.

During the program, students first explore different genres of art through a guided tour led by a trained art educator. Then, a visual style observation allows students to engage with and critically think about two specific works of art. After this, a hands-on art activity related to the previous activities takes place at the museum’s classroom. Here, students are guided to creatively use elements of art, such as color, shape, and texture, to tell their own personal story.
