One of the finest taiko drumming groups in North America, San Jose Taiko stretches the traditional limits of this ancient Japanese art form. By including world rhythms such as African, Latin and American rock and jazz. San Jose Taiko has created a unique Japanese-American sound, while maintaining its historical meaning.

Taiko for All

Program description

Taiko for All is a workshop for kids with and without physical disabilities. Working with an Occupational Therapist also trained in taiko, the workshop can be adapted specifically for your group.  Typical group size is 12-15 participants.

San Jose Taiko has been teaching the art of taiko to youth since 1985, providing young players not only with instruction in taiko but also with opportunities for building creative expression, self-esteem, cultural awareness, and group cooperation.
